Using a melon baller, scoop flesh from cantaloupe into balls and set aside. Into a large glass bowl combine the sugar, lime juice, lemon juice, and lime peel. Stir well to dissolve sugar. Add the melon balls, kiwi, grapes, and mandarin orange slices. Toss gently to combine. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to blend flavors, stirring once or twice. Spoon the fruit into serving bowls dividing evenly. Serve immediately. Serves 4.
