Sloppy Joe Surprise

• 1 cup textured soy protein
• 7/8 cup boiling water
• 2 tbsp canola oil
• 1 cup chopped onions
• 1 large green pepper, coarsely chopped
• 2 cups tomato sauce
• 1 to 1 1/2 tbsp chili powder
• 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
• 2 tbsp brown sugar
• 1/2 tsp salt
• Freshly ground pepper to taste
• Tabasco sauce to taste (optional)
• 4 hamburger rolls

Pour the boiling water over the textured soy protein and set aside. Heat oil in large skillet and add onions and pepper; sauté until they are tender. Stir in the textured soy protein and other ingredients. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Serves 4.
