The Joys of Soy

If you are ready to start incorporating soy into your meal plan, you can choose from a variety of products readily available at most supermarkets, or you can be a little more adventurous and try some of the more unique products typically found only in health-food stores.

There is no precise recommendation for soy intake, but there appears to be little risk in increasing soy consumption, especially considering there are populations where consumption is 50 grams or greater of soy protein a day, compared with the negligible average American intake.

There are 3 major groups of soy foods:
• Traditional soy foods
• Modern soy foods
• Second generation soyfoods, or prepared soyfoods.
